My mini spa break at the Marriott hotel Portsmouth

It was around 9pm on a wednesday night when me and my friend Amii decided we fancied a mini spa break away.
Now, I am quite impulsive by nature and very impatient... So we ended up booking one for the next day and spent the rest of our night rushing around packing, ready to set of early the next morning for a long drive.

We went for two nights, which gave us full access to the gym, sauna, steam room, pool and hot tub. So we were quite happy with that and planned on getting some treatments while we were there.

We arrived in Portsmouth around 12pm and went for a little shopping trip before we went and checked in at our hotel. Typically, dispite writing a list I forgot my swimming costume and other essentials, so ended up buying a new swim dress and other essentials (extra shoes, underwear, cardigan... I am not a very good packer apparently.)

We checked in the hotel Marriott just before 3pm and made our way up to our room.

We had a little explore round our room and made ourselves at home. Then we made the very big mistake of laying on the bed, and both fell asleep for a couple of hours...

Waking up a few hours later, we decided to head of to a Toby calvery for a quick roast dinner,a nd boy did we pig ourselves. Feel slightly bloated we headed back to the Marriott and got changed to go swimming.

The pool wasnt busy, so we dominated it, swimming around and floating in the water, not a care in the world. Eventually made our way into the hot tub for a good hour to just let the bubbles massage the day away.

We got ready back in our room and spent the night in the sealevel Cocktail bar. Having scrumptious cocktails made before our eyes with fresh fruits and an array of alcohol.

We chose a strawberry and chocolate face mask with cleansing detail, and tried very hard to eat chocolate but opening our mouths was difficult as the clay masks were so hard. Once The face masks were off we headed right to bed.

Day two begins with us waking around 9am and getting ready quickly before the maids come round. We headed off to Southampton for a shopping day, I of course being the utter bimbo I am kept forgetting what it was called or where I was. (Even as I am writting this I yell to my partner, Ryan, "Where did I go again??") I am not a dumb woman, but sometimes...SMH.

So yes, we ended up in a huge multi story shopping centre with a food court at the top. Nothing like anything we have in Hastings. We were thrilled to be surrounded by clothes shop and I was very taken with Accsessorize and their vintage radio style bags and scented tangle teezers. I wanted to buy about 20 bags but settled on one from Oasis, its a super cute navy mini satchel. Amii got herself some burgundy jeans she has been after for a while, and all was right in the world.

For lunch we wanted to try something new, and passed many places we had never tried. After staring at a Yo Sushi bar and the little dishes go round for a few minuites...

 We settled on Eds Diner.

The food was fantastic and came to £40 for a chicken burger and chips each, a bowl of onion rings and two of the best milkshakes we will ever have in our lives.

We headed back to the Marriott, which was a 45 min drive away from Southampton and after such a busy morning and a pretty hefty food coma - Amii fell asleep again and I went for a bath.

A few things me and Amii discovered during our stay - fridays are a LOT more glamourous than weekdays. They roll out a red carpet (litterally) and the hotel is buzzing with guests dressed like they are fit for the Oscars, adorned with sparkling diamonds, Rolex and knocking back champagne like its water.

Of course, me and Amii chose that time to walk through the lounge dressed in our finest leggings and tshirts, hair bunged with no makeup on, ready for a swim.

On the other hand, all eyes were on us... some women must have spent best part of 3 hours and thousands of pounds to look that way, and we just rolled on by getting all the attention. Go us right?

We made it down to the spa pools and treated ourselves to a hot tub session. Ending up spending a good hour chatting to some OTT rich men with high fly jobs, while me and Amii chatted about our mundane work-day lives in the glam world of caring and insurance.

Earlier on we had made a VIP reservation at a club called TigerTiger. By day a beautiful place in the "posh part" of Portsmouth for customers to dine and look over the docks. By night a multi room theme bar/club.

The tiki room

The 90s / Naughties disco room - Wonderland

Then of course there is the Jewel Lounge

You just keep going wherever you are in the mood for, the music changes from room to room as does the drink menu. Its pretty crazy.

So we headed off to tesco a few hours before we were due to go out to grab some essentials and ended up coming back with new outfits, boots, bags and KFC... Like you do.

We got all beautied'up and grabbed a cab to TigerTiger.

We got there at 9 as our reservation was fairly early, and we started on the cocktails. Its was a wild night to say the least and we didnt get back until 4am or later. The hotel staff greeted us at the door as we rolled in drunk, all last nights dresses and carrying our shoes.

Day 3 we both woke up up a bit hungover, so we packed up, checked out the hotel and headed to KFC for an early lunch. After that we made our way to New Forest before we headed home.

Come and tell me about any mini breaks you have been on? Id love to hear some stories :D
